This is my fifth year of teaching at RHS and I am excited! We have many new faces in the district and it is going to be a great year! This year I am also teaching one Chemistry class in Avoca for AHST High School.
I graduated from Battle Creek - Ida Grove High School in 2002 and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in May 2006 with a degree in Chemistry Teaching. I moved to Oakland in June 2006 and it is nice to live just one block from RHS and walk to school everyday!
I love teaching science at RHS with Ms. Haarhues-Casey and our new chemistry lab. We are both science nerds and we are slowly converting our students into lovers of science as well!
Outside of school, I enjoy singing in the Oakland UMC choir, gardening, reading, traveling to see friends and family, and learning more about science! I am also busy working to earn my Masters Degree in Science Education from the University of Northern Iowa!
