The preschoolers in Mrs. Henderson’s class recently participated in a few festivities to celebrate the Chinese New Year. A student in our class, Lily, is from China and wanted to share a little about her heritage.
Lily dressed in a traditional Chinese silk outfit. She brought books about China. We looked at the pictures and compared their buildings and houses to our own. We also read Round is a Mooncake. Lily made and brought “mooncakes” to share with her friends! They were delicious! We decorated our room with lanterns that we made and also wore Chinese masks. Lily also gave each of her friends a baggie containing Chinese candy and a fortune cookie. We learned the word “shi shi” to say thank you to our friend!!!
