PHYSICAL SCIENCE BIG IDEAS:

  • Scientific thinking helps to solve problems and answer questions by gathering and evaluating evidence.
  • The properties and interactions of matter are determined by the properties and interactions of atoms and molecules.
  • Electrons create and define the bonding of atoms and therefore the properties of molecules.
  • Matter can change through chemicals reactions that break and create chemical bonds.
  • The breaking and forming of chemical bonds uses and creates energy.
  • Motion can be described and predicted using mathematical relationships and laws.
  • Energy is conserved but can be converted to different forms.
