On Wednesday, January 4th, Riverside High School had a technology bootcamp.
Teachers at the high school spent the day in training on new software that will help them instruct in a 1-to-1 laptop classroom.
Students attended classes with presenters that came from other buildings, as well as the AEA, to instruct on different technologies that could be useful to students in the 1-to-1 classroom. Sessions delivered to students were as follows:
Google Docs – Judy Griffen (AEA Technology Consultant)
Google Email and Calendar – Shawn Bluml
AEA Online Resources – Liz Graves
Troubleshooting – Marcos deOliveira
Video Editing – Steve Allen and student helpers Dani Fenn, Jeff Kemp and Jaycee Feigenbutz
Online Presentation Tools (Prezi and SlideRocket) – Jordan Edgerly and Michelle Griffen
Online Note-Taking and Organizational Tools (Evernote) – Cindy Beattie
It was a very busy day for all of us, but also one that was very worthwhile. We hope that everyone found some new ways to use technology for learning.
