Current Events Class Visits 4th Grade

Some of Mrs. Reynolds’ Current Events class students visited Mrs. Rhoten’s 4th grade this week. The high school class often debates issues in the news, and Mrs. Rhoten’s class loves to debate. The topic of the day was the “Healthy Kids Act.” Students discussed whether or not the government should get to say what we eat while at school. First, students came up with reasons why it would be positive or negative, and then they divided into groups and debated the issue. It was a great experience for both classes, and the high school kids were very impressed by the 4th graders debating skills!
