In honor of School board Recognition Week, which is May 6-12, the Riverside High School Foods III class prepared and served a delicious dinner to the school board members and administrators in the FCS room at the high school on Wednesday, May 2.
Five of Mrs. Bentley’s students gave the board some details of their “Bulldog Bites” and “Riverside Roadhouse” programs where they prepare and serve lunch to staff members as well as have snacks available. The small charge pays for their supplies. Each week they spend a day planning menus and preparing supply lists, a day preparing items for the week and three days they serve lunch to staff members. On Wednesday, the board was served chicken breast on wild rice with red pepper sauce or pork chops with apples and twice baked potatoes, along with homemade bread, butterscotch pie (not instant pudding) and chocolate cake balls.
