Alternate Bus Routes

Hard Road Only Plan
Alternate Bus Routes for 2006-07

story image 1
March 07, 2007

Parents:

Below is a chart and map that explains the changes that the district would follow if buses are unable to travel the back roads. This will be referred to as the "Hard Road Only" plan. In the event that buses would not be able to travel the gravel roads, we will notify TV and radio stations that Riverside will run "Hard Road Only" routes. Buses will start their special route at the time indicated on the chart. We ask that you take your child to the place that you consider the safest along that route, and the bus will pick them up at that point. Buses will travel somewhat slower than usual to be sure to pick up as many students as they see, so estimate when you think the bus will be at your pick up spot, and be there a little early to be sure not to miss it. If at all possible stay with your child (children) to be certain they are picked up and the bus has not already passed by. In the afternoon your child (children) will be dropped off in the same place unless you contact us with other arrangements.

We only intend to use this as an option if roads are impassable due to snow or mud conditions. We realize it is an inconvenience and apologize in advance as well as thank you for your assistance. If weather conditions are such that you are unable to take your child (children) to the road, please notify the school, and we will treat it as an excused absence. If you have questions about a particular route, please try calling the bus driver of that route (see phone number on chart) before calling Dave Danker at the bus barn (482-6215).
