A Riverside student who attended Prom on Saturday April 17, 2021 has tested positive for COVID-19. Those students (16 total) who have been identified as a close contact (within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes) have been quarantined.
If any other students are identified with symptoms or test positive the district will quarantine those students and also those students in close contact per Iowa Department of Health Guidelines. If your student, who attended Prom, shows any COVID-19 symptoms please notify the school and keep them home from school
Who needs to Quarantine:
People who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19—excluding people who have had COVID-19 within the past 3 months or those who are fully vaccinated
Length of Quarantine:
Pottawattamie County Public Health makes the final decisions about how long quarantine should last. Options they will consider include stopping quarantine
After day 10 without testing
After day 7 after receiving a negative test result (test must occur on day 5 or later)
After stopping quarantine, you should
Watch for symptoms until 14 days after exposure.
If your students have symptoms, immediately self-isolate and contact the school.
Wear a mask, stay at least 6 feet from others, wash your hands, avoid crowds, and take other steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
We are working with Pottawattamie Public Health to keep our school district and community safe.
We adhere to strict mitigation protocols at school (Face Covering Mandate, Social Distancing and Hand Sanitizing) and will continue to for the entire school year
