Riverside Elementary Students and Families,

Today’s email will cover information related to riding the bus and the  drop off/ pick up procedures we will be using at the Oakland and Carson buildings. 

Bus Information

  • Students will have assigned seating on the bus.

  • Siblings will sit next to each other on the bus.

  • Facial coverings will be required on the bus. Facial coverings will be provided if needed.

  • Students who ride the bus will be picked up and dropped off at their designated areas.

  • The school will not transport students to church groups, clubs, birthday groups or to another student’s house this year.

Oakland Building Information- Arrival

  • Students should enter the building using the appropriate doors at the front of the building.

    • Front door on west side of the building

      • Mrs. M. Smith’s preschool

      • Kindergarten

      • 1st Grade

    • Middle door at the front of the building

      • Mrs. Henderson’s preschool

      • Mrs. A. Smith’s preschool

    • Front Door on the east side of the building

      • 2nd grade

  • Please do not pull into the bus lane when dropping off your child.

Please note, for students that are being dropped off, once students enter the building, facial coverings will be required.

Oakland Building Information- End of the Day

  • Students will remain in their classroom until their bus color is called.

  • Once called, students will exit through the front door on their side of the building.

  • After the first set of buses leave, students who are being picked up will be released. If you are picking up your child, please wait at the front of the building using appropriate distancing from other parents.

  • If you are picking up your child, please do not pull into the bus lane.

Carson Building- Arrival

  • All students will enter through the front door. 

  • Please do not pull into the bus lane to drop off your student.

  • Please note, for students that are being dropped off, once students enter the building, facial coverings will be required.

Carson Building- End of the Day

  • Students who ride the first set of buses will be released from their classroom and head to their designated area to load the bus.

  • After the first set of buses leave, students being picked up, walking or who ride bikes will be released.

  • If you are picking up your child, please use the door at the southwest corner of the building.

  • Next, the students who ride the second set of buses will be released and will head to their designated area to load the bus.

If there is a change in bus schedules or pick/up drop off locations, please email Mrs. Lori at the Oakland building, lnisley@riverside.k12.ia.us, or Mr. Jeff at the Carson building, jkarros@riverside.k12.ia.us.

  • Please remember, we will not be transporting to church groups, clubs, birthday groups or to another student’s house.
