Riverside COVID-19 Guidelines

Vaccination Update:

Pottawattamie County Public Health hosted a Closed POD (Point of Dispensing) for Priority Group 1B  who received Pfizer vaccine as a 1st shot to administer the 2nd shot on Saturday February 27, 2021. Many Riverside staff were included and have received the 2nd shot.  It has caused some staff absenteeism today due to side effects.

Those staff who have not been vaccinated have been given information to schedule their 1st vaccination shot at an upcoming Closed POD (Point of Dispensing) for Priority Group 1B.

Those staff who received Moderna vaccine as a 1st shot will be scheduled to have the 2nd shot administered  Saturday March 6 2021. Many additional Riverside staff will be included and will receive the 2nd shot. We will prepare for some additional staff absenteeism on Monday March 8, 2021 due to potential side effects.

Getting vaccinated is encouraged for all staff at the Riverside School District.  An informal survey has indicated that 92% of all staff are willing to get vaccinated.

CDC Guidance--Four Important Ways to Slow the Spread

  • Wear a mask to protect yourself and others and stop the spread of COVID-19.

  • Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from others who don’t live with you.

  • Avoid crowds. The more people you are in contact with, the more likely you are to be exposed to COVID-19.

  • Get vaccinated when able
