Capital Campaign

CARSON, IOWA  — Thanks to a wide range of community donations, the Riverside Community School District has been able to lower its fundraising goal for Phase II of the Riverside PRIDE capital campaign from $870,000 to $566,000.

Local farmers, volunteers, and businesses have donated time, materials, and labor, resulting in significant savings for the district. The support has helped offset project costs, particularly in ongoing football field renovations and facility upgrades.

Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Anderson credited several individuals and local entities for their work, including Brad Forristall, Nick Allen, Chris Fox, Gary Wax, Troy Pedersen, Mark Jeppesen, Eric McCready, and staff from the City of Oakland. Their contributions have supported improvements to the football field.

Additional assistance has come from Jerry Pierce and Pierce Pump, who completed irrigation system work. Henry Well installed wells for water access, while Larry Hackett of Hackett Construction is helping to upgrade the concession stand.

“The Riverside PRIDE campaign continues to exceed expectations, thanks to the incredible generosity and dedication of our community,” said Dr. Anderson. “We remain deeply grateful for the ongoing collaboration and support that are making these transformative projects possible.

So far, the district has raised $346,000, or 61% of the updated goal. The remaining projects include a new greenhouse and playground equipment. About $220,000 is still needed to complete the campaign.
