Dear Riverside Community,
As Chris and I prepare to begin a new chapter, I have spent a great deal of time reflecting on what our time at Riverside has meant to us. While there are countless accomplishments that I am proud of, what I will cherish most are the relationships we built with this incredible community.
When I accepted the opportunity to serve as your superintendent, I knew I had a great deal to learn. Every district has its own traditions, values, and way of doing things, and Riverside was no different. Along the way, I certainly didn't get everything right. Yet, time and again, this community extended grace. You encouraged me when I needed confidence, challenged me when I needed perspective, and forgave me when I made mistakes. For that, I will always be grateful. Your patience and belief in me allowed me to grow not only as a superintendent, but as a person.
Chris and I have been incredibly blessed to become part of this community. From Friday night lights and school concerts to community celebrations, and countless interactions with students, staff, families, and community members, we have experienced the very best of what Riverside has to offer. You welcomed us into your schools, your homes, and your lives. Those relationships are something we will carry with us forever.
One thing I know without question is that Riverside's greatest strength has never been a building, a program, or a scoreboard. It has always been its people. Every day I watched teachers, support staff, administrators, coaches, volunteers, parents, and community members choose to do the hard work because our students deserve nothing less. That work is not always easy, but it is always worth it. Continue believing in one another. Continue supporting your schools. Continue putting students at the center of every decision. The children of Riverside deserve adults who are willing to work together, solve difficult problems, and never lose sight of why we do this work.
Although our address will change, a piece of our hearts will always remain in Riverside. I will continue cheering for the Bulldogs from afar and, whenever I can, from the stands. I simply can't walk away from the greatness that exists here. I'll celebrate your successes, admire your resilience, and proudly tell others about this special community that gave me the privilege of serving as its superintendent.
Thank you for trusting me, supporting me, challenging me, and allowing me to be a small part of the Riverside story. It has been one of the greatest honors of my career.
With sincere gratitude,
Dr. Stephanie Anderson, former superintendent of the Riverside CSD
