Together We Can Banner

The Riverside Kindergarten Class has been identified as a close contact (within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes) to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. No students have been identified as sick, and no students are showing symptoms.  We are asking parents to pick up their students at school today.

As a precaution and in alignment with guidance, Pottawattamie Public Health has recommended that the entire class remain home for 14 days since their last contact with the confirmed COVID-19 case.

We have determined this date to be Wednesday 11-25-2020 as when kindergarteners can return to normal daily activities.  The date they can return to school and we will resume  face to face instruction will be Monday 11-30-2020. These dates will change if the health status changes for any student.

Teachers and the administration will be taking Monday (11-16-20) and Tuesday (11-17-20) to prepare for remote learning.  We will be contacting parents concerning, access to a computer, access to the internet and how to access learning activities.

We are working with Pottawattamie Public Health to keep our school district and community safe.

We continue to follow all guidance for PK-12 schools as determined by the Department of Health and Human Services, Iowa Department of Education and Center for Disease Control (CDC)

We adhere to strict mitigation protocols at school (Face Covering Mandate, Social Distancing and Hand Sanitizing)

We clean and disinfect the facility regularly per Health Department Guidance.

Thank you for understanding, due to medical privacy laws, we are not able to release the names of the individuals with COVID-19.  We will continue to communicate changes and updates with you.
