We’d like to welcome Amanda Childs, who is a new English language arts teacher at Riverside High School! 🎉 Holding a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Buena Vista University and an associate's degree in arts from IWCC, Amanda embarks on her first year of teaching. She’s eager to connect with Riverside students and collaborate with our supportive community. “I knew right away I wanted to be part of the Riverside community,” Amanda says. “The students are great kids and the staff is supportive in many different ways. Riverside obtains a positive environment that is prevalent every day.” Residing in Hastings with her spouse, Tony, and their four dogs, Amanda enjoys reading, coffee, outdoor excursions, Netflix binges, and the occasional rejuvenating nap. Welcome! 🌟

Welcome!
Mr. Kroon is always maintaining a positive outlook and brings a great sense of humor everyday. It's almost impossible to catch him in a bad mood and this attitude has rubbed off on me. I feel like I'm a much better person for myself, my family, and my students because of this attitude. I appreciate everything that he brings to the building each day.

During Fire Prevention Week, we’re reminding all families of the importance of having an escape plan in case of a house fire.🧯 Practice the plan with your family at least twice a year. Make sure every family member knows two ways out of each room and how they can get outside as quickly as possible. Here’s a great resource: https://www.nfpa.org/Public-Education/Staying-safe/Preparedness/Escape-planning
