Teamwork is the CKH Character Trait that we will focus on during the month of November with students during their weekly CKH lessons.
Why focus on Teamwork?
Teamwork improves communication: Teamwork helps us improves our verbal and non-verbal communication skills, conveying that we care and a relevant message.
Teamwork builds interpersonal awareness: Growing a great team requires us to first build strong relationships through better understanding ourselves and others.
Teamwork celebrates diversity. Teamwork thrives from diverse ideas that come from a mixture of different genders, cultures, expertise, experience, and problem-solving approaches.

As we highlight our staff who are veterans this week, we proudly recognize Coach Chris Leftridge, our high school girls wrestling coach. 🇺🇸💙
A 2004 Riverside graduate, he joined the U.S. Navy in 2010, serving as a second-class petty officer and aviation structural mechanic. His service took him to 22 countries and 49 states, including three deployments: the Persian Gulf aboard the USS George H.W. Bush, an anti-piracy mission off the coast of Africa on the USS Haley Burton, and another Persian Gulf deployment on the USS Roosevelt supporting a hijacked ship rescue mission.
Coach Leftridge is a dedicated husband to Britney and a proud father to Hannah-Mae (11th grade) and Noah (2nd grade).
Thank you, Coach Leftridge, for your service to our country and for the leadership and dedication you bring to our students every day.

On Tuesday, the voted Physical Plant & Equipment Levy (PPEL) on the ballot for Riverside CSD fell a little short of passing.
As a result, the district will not be able to use these funds for infrastructure and equipment repairs, purchases, and improvements.
Although the voted PPEL was not the right solution for our community at this time, we remain grateful for the productive conversations we have had in the months and weeks leading up to election day. We hope this high level of engagement continues as we move forward.
In the meantime, thank you for your consideration. 🙏

In 1990, he deployed to the Gulf War, leaving behind his wife, a five-year-old daughter, and a newborn. After 24 years of service, he retired in 1994 as a warrant officer III.
We are deeply grateful for Mr. Copenhaver’s dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to both our country and our Riverside community! 🙏

On Tuesday, our community will consider a voted Physical Plant & Equipment Levy (PPEL) for Riverside Schools.
An approved PPEL would allow the district to use the funds for:
➡️ Making projected repairs in line with our 2024 facility study
➡️ Purchasing buses to update and maintain our fleet
➡️ Rotating our Chromebooks for students/ staff to ensure we keep devices up to date
➡️ Adding more educational technology throughout our schools
➡️ Providing telehealth mental health supports for students
The voted PPEL would have a rate of $1.34, resulting in an increase of approximately $120.61 per year (or $10.05 per month) on a residential home with an assessed value of $200,000.
