Riverside Community School District

Riverside Community School District is seeking an elementary principal to lead Oakland Elementary School and Carson Elementary School starting in the 2026-27 school year. 🍎

This PK-5 leadership position plays an important role in supporting instruction, building strong relationships, and aligning practices with Iowa’s School Leadership Standards. The role includes overseeing daily operations, supporting staff development, and working closely with the superintendent, families, and the community.

Qualified candidates must have a master’s degree in PK-12 Administration, hold an Iowa Administrative Certificate with evaluator endorsement, and demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

This is a 215-day position with a salary range of $80,000 to $95,000. Application materials should include a cover letter, resume, letters of reference, and a completed employment application. Shoutout to our current leaders. 1st grade is bringing it right now, but there’s still plenty of time to jump in. Clean out those closets and help us bring in more shoes than Underwood! Every pair makes a difference.

The Riverside PRIDE Capital Campaign has made an impact on our schools and community since its launch in 2021, and the campaign is now coming to a close. 🙏

Through the generosity of more than 100 families and community partners, the campaign raised $750,000 in cash and more than $100,000 in in-kind contributions. These projects were completed outside of tax collection.

Phase I projects included:
➡️ Riverside welcome sign
➡️ We R Riverside donor recognition wall
➡️ A digital marquee
➡️ Parking lot improvements
➡️ Landscaping
➡️ Repairs to the baseball and softball fields
➡️ Retaining wall and landscaping for the safe room

Phase II projects included:
➡️ Football field sprinkler and turf build
➡️ Installation of wells to support irrigation for the football field
➡️ Satellite concession stand with restrooms near the softball and baseball fields

These enhancements continue to benefit our students, staff, and community every day. Thank you, donors! 🌟

Students in 3rd through 11th grade will participate in ISASP testing during the week of April 20. Families are encouraged to schedule appointments outside of that week whenever possible so students can be present and focused. 📝
