This is just the beginning -- over the next few years, they’ll be checking out a variety of college campuses as they're thinking about what's next. Big public schools, small private schools, trade schools, and everything in between... we’re exploring it all! The future is lookin' bright for the class of 2028!

Showing up to school every day is critical for children’s wellbeing, engagement, and learning.
Make sure to send children to school if they are:
✅ Generally healthy and well
✅ Participating in usual day-to-day activities
Children can even go to school if they:
✅ Have a mild cold, including a runny nose and/or cough
✅ Have eye drainage without fever, eye pain, or eyelid redness
✅ Have a mild stomachache
✅ Have a mild rash with no other symptoms
As the warmer weather returns, let's take a moment to refresh ourselves on the dress code (reference Board Policy 502.1 and Iowa Code 279.8). Dressing appropriately reflects respect for the learning environment and ensures everyone feels comfortable and confident. ⭐
Common decency includes, but is not limited to, the following:
✅Shoes/sandals must be worn at all times.
✅Hats (billed and stocking) are prohibited, as are other headwear or head dressings that cause a distraction.
✅Gloves are not to be worn in school unless approved by administration or used for safety reasons within a class.
✅Midriffs, cleavage, and undergarments must be covered. Transparent clothing, tube tops, revealing tank tops, and spaghetti-strapped attire are unacceptable.
✅Pants must be worn at waist level. Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be of “fingertip” length or longer. Revealing holes in clothing are unacceptable.
✅Clothing with reference to drugs, tobacco, or tobacco lookalike products, alcohol, or sex is unacceptable, as is clothing with profanity, suggestive pictures, or inappropriate, offensive or suggestive language.
✅Large coats, large jackets, and other outerwear that causes a distraction to education will not be allowed in the classroom.
✅Chains, spikes, or any hard objects (including tools, pliers, etc.) worn on the wrists, arms, waist, or legs are prohibited.
✅Anything gang related will not be allowed.
Students in violation will be asked to change to appropriate apparel or will be sent home. School attendance policies will be in effect during the student’s absence.
Last week we had Kindergarten Round Up, and our incoming kindergarten students were able to meet our Riverside Class of 2025 Graduates. #WeRRiverside
The Riverside Board of Education meeting that was scheduled for Monday, April 21 will now be on Wednesday, April 23 at 6:30PM at Carson Elementary School Media Center.
