International Social Emotional Learning Day is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of SEL for all students.
SEL plays a key role in education and human development, fostering skills such as emotional intelligence, empathy, communication, conflict resolution, and cooperation. It can help students manage their emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
We're proud to support these important efforts! 💪

Happy School Social Work Week! Social workers play a crucial role in supporting students' mental health and wellbeing.

Message from Ms. Rasmussen: It is with deepest regret that I inform you that the semi truck did show up this morning but unfortunately our strawberries were not on the back of the truck. That being said, right now I am being told that it will be the earliest tomorrow at some time. When that time is, I will inform you as soon as I know.

Mrs. Kroon spent time with our 8th graders today discussing items related to the transition into high school, sharing possible post-secondary options, and introducing them to I Have a Plan Iowa . Thank you Mrs. Kroon for all you do for our students!

Parents can support consistent school attendance by understanding the cause of health-related absences, which can often be avoided.
Children may avoid school due to the symptoms of anxiety, which may include decreased appetite, feeling tired, stomachache, and headache.
If you are concerned your child is missing school due to anxiety, talk with a teacher, the school nurse, a social worker, or other school staff to discuss the challenge and identify possible solutions.
Check out more information at attendanceworks.org.

Kids Heart Challenge wraps up tomorrow! We are having a blast getting healthier and helping kids with special hearts! Please remember to send your students to school with their collection envelopes tomorrow or make your final online donations.
