Mrs. Flathers' Language Arts class analyzed the character changes of Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. In their groups, they created two drawings of Scrooge and cited text evidence from the play to support their thinking as to how he changed.



With a to-do list that never ends , Mr Gavin brought HUGE celebrations by getting the water fountain up and running in the CES gym . Thanks for ALL you do Mr Gavin !

Students in Mrs. Weathers's Kindergarten are working on mapping sounds to write words.



Mason Geer from Farm Bureau visited kindergarten. Students learned about products produced by Iowa farmers and were able to create paint using cornstarch!






Students in Mrs. Graves' Language Arts class solved a "Whodunnit " by deciphering clues about sentence types that were placed around the room and hallway. The students enjoyed being detectives and solving the mystery.




Riverside Annual Food Drive - December 4th - December 8th
Please help the high school student council reach their goals to help support the Riverside Food Pantry this year! They are trying to raise 5,000 dollars through business and personal monetary donations and donate 5,000 items. If you would like to help us with monetary donations, please contact kharris@riverside.k12.ia.us!
Students can bring their items to school all next week for item donations! If you do not have a student and would like to contribute, please drop off any item donations at Riverside High School or any of the three local businesses (Agrivision Equipment in Macedonia, Tinik, and J.P Lumber!

On Wednesday, November 29th, Ms Rassmussen and a few students attended the IWCC Culinary Arts Career Day. The students were able to tour the Culinary Program and have the opportunity for some hands-on experiences.

We started off the morning with a pep rally send off to our Winter Guard team. They will perform at their state competition today in Des Moines at 1:40 pm. Good luck Winter Guard team! Thanks for the performance this morning and all of your hard work and dedication!
