Today is Unity Day, also known as Stop Bullying Day! We believe that every student deserves to learn in an environment that's supportive, inclusive, and safe.
Let’s end bullying, once and for all. Show your support by wearing ORANGE today! 🧡

I really appreciate how you attempt to (and often do!) make it to both Large Group and Individual Speech competitions! I have spoken to many other coaches who are shocked when they learn that I have an administration that comes to competition. It really shows me, and the students, that you care about ALL activities at Riverside.

There will be no zero hour weights tomorrow morning. (Wednesday- 10/18)

Mr. Johannsen always pushes staff and students to be their best at all times. He truly is a person that is demonstrating all the qualities we look for in our students every single day. I would like to thank him for stepping up and taking care of things, even when it isn't his job to. This has led others to have the same attitude and our building is in a much better place because he's here.

REMINDER: Wednesday, October 18, is an early dismissal day. ⏰ #WeRRiverside

Thanks, Ellie Reed, for coming to the school board meeting tonight to share information about iJag. Your passion came through loud and clear! #WeRRiverside

Before I moved to Southwest Iowa, I had come down in February when Riverside was on Spring Break to look at the classroom/school. I come down the day before it had snowed 7+ inches of snow the nigh before I scheduled to come look at the classroom/school with Mr. Kroon. We had pushed it off a few hours and I eventually made the hour drive from the hotel in Council Bluffs to Oakland on icy snow covered roads to come look at the school. I was sitting in the front circle when Mr. Kroon pulled up out of his truck in red sweatpants and a beanie on his head. We got into the school and I was looking around at the classroom and That is when I was on the verge of tears thinking to myself "Is this really where I want to be and be 3 hours away from home knowing nobody." I kept telling Mr. Kroon that I was 70% sure of coming to Riverside as I have not signed my contract yet. I will never forget that he was so encouraging and listing off all the great things about Riverside and hearing how passionate he was made me realize that I may never get an administrator like him anywhere else. Now being here at Riverside and taking the risk of moving away from everything that I have known has been the best decision made so far with a welcoming administrator like Mr. Kroon who is always checking and helping where needed.

Tough loss to Treynor tonight for the WIC title.

A big shoutout to our visitor, and superintendent of Riverside, Dr. Anderson. She stopped by today to present a lesson to our sixth graders, and help students navigate the school's handbook during their exploratory class. Thanks Dr. Anderson!
