Parents can support consistent school attendance by understanding the cause of health-related absences, which can often be avoided.
Children may avoid school due to the symptoms of anxiety, which may include decreased appetite, feeling tired, stomachache, and headache.
If you are concerned your child is missing school due to anxiety, talk with a teacher, the school nurse, social worker, school counselor, or other school staff to discuss the challenge and identify possible solutions.
Check out more information at attendanceworks.org.

Mr. Dan plays a critical role in our school community; however, the role we love to see him play is with our students. He takes the time to listen, celebrate, and encourage when our students need it most. Thanks, Mr. Dan, for being such an integral part of our Riverside community! #WeRRiverside
